Pretty light

My dearest friend Lena with whom we created http://7500kmaway.blogspot.com/ , makes beautiful pictures. I am sure that these pictures will cheer you up even if it is raining again and you don’t know when spring will rich your place. Every time when I looked at any of her work, it makes me happy. And the great news is that now you can have your piece of “pretty light” at home as Lena’s images are available at her shop – http://www.etsy.com/shop/prettylight
And don’t forget to check if all your important tasks are done before you visit her blog - http://itsprettylight.blogspot.com/ , as you can forget about time easily:)

Ginger biscuits

If I would not create pieces with lace I would run a cafe with my sister, serving delicious cakes ant tea. And our permanent guest will be Alex :)
Baking is like a meditation. But in case of ginger biscuits you dont need to practice in order to succeed. This recipe is very simple and quick.
Ginger biscuits from Jamie magazine
Makes 12
Preheat oven 180C. Mix 150g self raising flour with 50g butter, 50g dark brown sugar, 3tbsp golden syrup (I put honey instead) 1 tsp ground ginger and a pinch each of salt and mixed spice. Divide dough into 12 equal-sized pieces and arrange on a baking tray, spaced apart. Bake for 12 min, or until cooked and golden.

a butterfly parade

Several months ago my dad made me this frame of an old floor moulding found at Kratovo (my parents’ place). It is probably spent many years at our house and then several more years somewhere at the yard. It has traces of different paints and nails and you can definitely tell that this wood saw a lot. It is kind of “shabby” but I love it so much as it has stories to tell. Now it is at the living room in Moscow and I change its decor every once in a while. This month it is a butterfly parade. I dont think that it will stay there for long as decor is blamed to be too girlish as you can guess not by me. I still think it is chic:)

exhibition at Galerie Doux dimanche

Today I got an email confirming that my card for the Charity exhibition was delivered to Japan and it made me so happy. As many other people I really wanted to contribute to the event but I sent a card quite late. Surprisingly it still made it there on time. Isn’t it a miracle? I hope the card will make somebody a little bit happier. The organizers from the Galerie Doux dimanche are doing a great job and we all can view the exhibition online. Just click the name, and you will see the art work by the artist here - http://paumes.com/prayforjapan/prayforjapan-artists.html a card for Japan
